Easter Weekend Recap

Hello Everyone! How was your weekend? Here is a little glimpse into ours:

My mom and sister both have birthdays in the vicinity of Easter, so Saturday we hosted everyone for our first outdoor brunch of the season.

Of course the star of any brunch is the yummy food and my sister had requested some mini Strawberry Pretzel Salads that she had found on Pinterest. They became our “birthday cake”:

We ate, played lots of lawn games, sat around to chat, and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Here are the men engaged in a game of bocce:

All that eating, playing, and chatting, makes you exhausted!

Sunday afternoon we headed over to my mom and dad’s house for Easter Dinner. We always have ham and all the trimmings. – Then, after the meal it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt!!! What? Your family doesn’t have egg hunts for the adults?! How much you miss… . Sometimes we have variations on the traditional hunt, and this year we worked in pairs with one person blindfolded, while the other directed them to the hidden eggs. No body contact was allowed. It was a fierce battle!

My teammate was my sister Amy, and yeah, we rocked it! The winners!

Post-hunt everybody else came up with ridiculous relay races: everything you could think of to do with a plastic egg. I was inside working on dessert, but a few that I saw were:

*Balancing an egg on a spoon in your mouth
*Carrying a dog with an egg balanced on their backs (?)
*Putting an egg between your knees and hopping

Quite creative. Not my cup of tea, but entertaining to watch for sure! Then we came home and crashed (actually, I came home and started messing around with my blog design to make it more fresh and spring-y – what do you think?). Two beautiful days filled with lots of fresh air, food, and family time. Nice.
